What this amendment would do

Look, as folks keeping an eye on Congress for you, we need to know what our elected officials are trying to do with our budget. This amendment was submitted by Mrs. Murray regarding the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and through fiscal year 2034.

What It Aims to Change

  • The amendment adds a new section to the end of title III of the budget resolution.
  • It sets up a deficit-neutral reserve fund for improving reproductive assistance.
  • This reproductive assistance may include in vitro fertilization or other fertility treatments provided by the Department of Defense and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • It covers members of the Armed Forces, veterans, and their spouses or partners.
  • It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise budget allocations and make adjustments as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit over the specified time periods.
