What this amendment would do

Mr. Bennet submitted SA 874 to set up a deficit-neutral reserve fund. The plain purpose of this is to make sure students are free from social media distractions during school hours.

What It Aims to Change or Add

The amendment adds a new section to title III of the concurrent resolution. It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to change allocations, aggregates, and other levels. The Chairman can also adjust the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation that relates to keeping students free from social media distractions during school hours.

To make this happen, the legislation cannot increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
