What this amendment would do
Ms. Rosen submitted SA 864, which is an amendment meant to be added to the concurrent resolution for the federal budget for fiscal year 2025 and levels through 2034.
The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund at the end of title III. This fund relates to providing funding to increase the affordability of child care for working families.
The amendment aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to make certain changes. Specifically, the Chairman can revise allocations, aggregates, other appropriate levels, and the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation that provides funding to make child care more affordable for working families.
- The changes apply to bills, joint resolutions, amendments, amendments between the Houses, motions, or conference reports.
- The adjustments are allowed only by the amounts provided in such legislation for those purposes.
- A strict rule applies: the legislation must not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
