What this amendment would do

  • This amendment was submitted by Ms. Rosen and is known as SA 858. It deals with the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal years 2025 through 2034.

  • The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund to the budget resolution. This fund relates specifically to expanding tax credits that incentivize affordable housing production, which may include the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit.

  • It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to change budget allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels. It also allows the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation related to this affordable housing production.
