What this amendment would do

As folks who put these officials in office, we need to know what they are trying to do with our budget. This amendment, submitted by Ms. Rosen, sets up a deficit-neutral reserve fund related to our public lands.

Here is what it aims to do:

  • It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.
  • It allows adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation dealing with supporting updates to, and the implementation of, resource management plans across public lands.
  • It ensures that this can only happen if the legislation would not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
