What this amendment would do

As folks who put these officials in office, we need to know what they are trying to do with our budget. This amendment, labeled SA 843 and submitted by Ms. Rosen, is about setting up a deficit-neutral reserve fund.

Purpose and Changes

The purpose of this amendment is to focus on protecting manufacturing investments that create jobs.

Here is what it aims to change or add to the budget resolution:

  • Allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels.
  • Allows adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for specific legislation, such as bills, joint resolutions, amendments, motions, or conference reports.
  • Requires that any legislation using this fund must not increase the deficit over the total periods of fiscal years 2025 through 2029 or fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
