What this amendment would do

As folks who put these officials in office, we need to know what they are trying to do with our budget. This amendment, submitted by Ms. Rosen, sets up a deficit-neutral reserve fund for a specific purpose.

Here is what it aims to change or add to the budget resolution:

  • It adds a new section at the end of title III related to Federal land management agencies.
  • It focuses on the onboarding, hiring, and retention of staff at these agencies.
  • It specifically targets staff that support the permitting of critical mineral and responsible energy development projects.
  • It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise allocations and make adjustments for legislation covering these staffing purposes, as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
