What this amendment would do

Mr. Peters submitted amendment SA 816 to the concurrent budget resolution for fiscal year 2025.

The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to the year-round, nationwide sale of E15.

It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.

These changes are for legislation related to:

  • Lowering gas prices
  • Supporting farmers of the United States
  • Strengthening United States energy independence
  • Allowing for the year-round, nationwide sale of E15

To make these changes happen, the legislation must not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
