Mr. Peters submitted amendment numbered SA 812 to the concurrent resolution setting forth the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and setting forth the appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.

What the amendment aims to do

  • It adds a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to prohibiting the privatization of public lands at the end of title III.

  • It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.

  • These revisions and adjustments are for legislation relating to ensuring that all people in the United States are able to enjoy recreational opportunities on public lands for generations to come.

  • This may include prohibiting the privatization of public lands.

  • The legislation must not increase the deficit over the period of the total of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
