What this amendment would do
-
Mr. Bennet submitted this amendment, known as SA 811, to be proposed for the concurrent resolution S. Con. Res. 7 for the fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
-
The purpose of the amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to protecting hospitals at the end of title III.
-
It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.
-
It also lets the Chairman make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation related to protecting hospitals.
-
This applies to one or more bills, joint resolutions, amendments, amendments between the Houses, motions, or conference reports.
-
The protection of hospitals may include prohibiting any action that would lead to uncompensated care.
-
The changes are allowed by the amounts provided in such legislation, as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
