What this amendment would do
Mr. Bennet submitted SA 809, which is an amendment intended to be proposed for the concurrent resolution on the budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and fiscal years 2026 through 2034.
The Purpose of the Amendment
-
The amendment adds a new section to the end of title III titled DEFICIT-NEUTRAL RESERVE FUND RELATING TO MEDICAID.
-
It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.
-
These changes are for legislation relating to protecting Medicaid, which may include restoring cuts to the Federal share of Medicaid payments to the States.
-
This can only happen if the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
