What this amendment would do
Mr. Bennet submitted SA 808, which is an amendment intended to be proposed for the concurrent resolution on the budget for fiscal year 2025 and fiscal years 2026 through 2034.
The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to Medicaid at the end of title III.
- It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.
- It allows adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to protecting Medicaid.
- It specifically mentions that protecting Medicaid may include prohibiting caps to the Federal share of Medicaid payments to the States.
- It applies as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
