What this amendment would do
-
Mr. Bennet submitted this amendment, known as SA 807, to be proposed for the concurrent resolution S. Con. Res. 7 for the fiscal year 2025 budget.
-
Its purpose is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to protecting against higher premiums in the commercial health insurance market.
-
It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.
-
It permits adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to maintaining health insurance premium affordability, as long as that legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
-
It allows these actions for legislation that may include prohibiting actions that lead to higher premiums in the commercial health insurance market, such as Medicaid cuts, as determined by the Congressional Budget Office.
