What this amendment would do

Mr. Bennet submitted SA 805 to the concurrent resolution on the budget for fiscal year 2025. The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to increasing funding intended to protect military installations, upgrade facilities, and increase resiliency.

How It Works

The amendment aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels. It also allows the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to increasing funding intended to protect military installations, upgrade facilities, and increase resiliency to prepare for or in response to extreme weather events, fires, or other natural disasters.

These changes can only happen if the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
