What this amendment would do
Mr. Booker submitted SA 804, which is an amendment about protecting Medicare.
-
The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to protecting Medicare.
-
It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise allocations, aggregates, and other levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.
-
These changes can be made for legislation relating to protecting seniors' health.
-
This may include preserving competition between Medicare Advantage and traditional Medicare by strengthening traditional Medicare with better services.
-
The condition for these changes is that the legislation would not increase the deficit over the total of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
