What this amendment would do

Mr. Booker submitted amendment numbered SA 801 to the concurrent resolution S. Con. Res. 7 for the fiscal year 2025 budget.

The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to supporting public service professionals to the end of title III.

It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.

These changes are for legislation relating to supporting public service professionals, which may include prohibiting undermining financial relief for police officers, first responders, teachers, and health care providers through harmful changes to the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program.

The amendment requires that such legislation would not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
