What this amendment would do

Mr. Booker submitted SA 799, which proposes to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund to the concurrent resolution.

The purpose of this amendment is to allow the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Budget to revise allocations and make adjustments for legislation related to the promotion of workforce development programs or access to job or skills training.

According to the text, these programs may include mentoring programs for in-school youth or programs at re-engagement centers.

To hold our officials accountable, the key rule for this fund is that any legislation passed for these purposes must not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
