What this amendment would do

Mr. Booker submitted amendment numbered SA 785 to the concurrent resolution setting forth the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and setting forth the appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.

The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to protecting the health of American communities at the end of title III.

It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.

These revisions and adjustments are for legislation relating to protecting the health of American communities, which may include prohibiting bans on pivotal scientific research focused on communities with the worst health outcomes.

This can only be done provided that such legislation would not increase the deficit over the period of the total of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
