What this amendment would do

  • Purpose: The amendment aims to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to Superfund polluter payments to the concurrent resolution.

  • What it changes or adds: It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels—and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger—for legislation relating to Superfund cleanup. This includes holding polluters responsible for cleaning up contaminated Superfund sites, as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit from fiscal year 2025 through 2034.
