What this amendment would do
Mr. Bennet submitted an amendment, numbered SA 771, to the concurrent resolution S. Con. Res. 7. The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to protecting American farmers and consumers at the end of title III.
This amendment aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger. This applies to legislation relating to protecting American farmers and consumers, which may include prohibiting provisions that decrease federal spending projections for programs administered by the Department of Agriculture. These changes can be made as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
