What this amendment would do

Mr. Bennet submitted SA 766 to the concurrent resolution S. Con. Res. 7 for the fiscal year 2025 budget. The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund at the end of title III.

  • The amendment aims to allow changes to budget allocations and the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to protecting access to voluntary programs that help farmers steward their land and address natural resource challenges in a responsible and economically viable way.
  • It may include prohibiting provisions that decrease funding for existing conservation programs or programs that address drought and persistent water challenges.
