What this amendment would do
Mr. Peters submitted SA 750 to the concurrent budget resolution for fiscal year 2025.
The purpose of this amendment is to add a new point of order in the Senate against legislation that privatizes public lands.
How It Works
- It makes it out of order in the Senate to consider any bill, joint resolution, motion, amendment, amendment between the Houses, or conference report that privatizes public lands.
- This rule can only be waived or suspended by an affirmative vote of three-fifths of the Members, duly chosen and sworn.
- It also requires an affirmative vote of three-fifths of the Members to sustain an appeal of the ruling of the Chair on a point of order raised against privatizing public lands.
