What this amendment would do

Ms. Warren submitted SA 729 to the concurrent resolution setting forth the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and setting forth the appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.

Purpose and Changes

The purpose of this amendment is to add a new point of order to title IV of the budget resolution. It aims to block the Senate from considering any bill, joint resolution, motion, amendment, amendment between the Houses, or conference report until two specific conditions are met.

  • Condition One: The U.S. DOGE Service Temporary Organization must stop threatening the Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid benefits of the people of the United States.

  • Condition Two: An unelected billionaire must stop infiltrating the Social Security Administration and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

The amendment also states that this new rule can only be waived, suspended, or sustained on an appeal of the ruling of the Chair by an affirmative vote of three-fifths of the Members of the Senate, duly chosen and sworn.
