What this amendment would do

Mr. King submitted amendment SA 720 to the concurrent resolution for the congressional budget for fiscal year 2025 and levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034. The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to presence and domain awareness at the end of title III.

This amendment aims to allow the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Budget to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels. It also allows the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to presence and domain awareness.

  • Expanding Coast Guard infrastructure
  • Maritime domain awareness
  • Presence in the Arctic region

The amendment specifies that these adjustments can only happen if the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
