What this amendment would do
This amendment, numbered SA 716 and submitted by Mr. King, aims to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to Arctic research at the end of title III of the concurrent resolution.
The purpose of this addition is to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to change budget allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and adjust the pay-as-you-go ledger. This can be done for legislation relating to Arctic research, which may include Coast Guard support of Arctic research.
- The changes apply to one or more bills, joint resolutions, amendments, amendments between the Houses, motions, or conference reports.
- The adjustment is limited to the amounts provided in such legislation for those specific purposes.
- The legislation must not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
