What this amendment would do
Mr. Bennet submitted this amendment, known as SA 706, to be proposed for the concurrent resolution on the budget for fiscal year 2025.
What It Aims to Change or Add
The amendment adds a new section to title III that creates a deficit-neutral reserve fund. This fund relates to security assistance for trilateral exercises between the United States, Japan, and South Korea.
It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution. It also allows the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to increasing security assistance enabling trilateral exercises between the United States, Japan, and South Korea.
This can only happen if the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
