What this amendment would do

Mr. Bennet submitted SA 705 to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund related to funding for the AUKUS trilateral security partnership.

What It Aims to Change or Add

  • It adds a new section to title III of the concurrent resolution.
  • It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels.
  • It allows adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to maintaining or increasing funding for the AUKUS trilateral security partnership between Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
  • It requires that any such legislation would not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
