What this amendment would do
Mr. Bennet submitted amendment SA 703 to the concurrent resolution on the budget for fiscal year 2025. The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to funding for the United States Southern Command.
The amendment aims to allow the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Budget to change budget allocations and make adjustments for legislation that strengthens the United States Southern Command. This includes legislation that would increase resources to support Central America, South America, or the Caribbean to address immigration, deter adversaries, preserve stability, or address common challenges, as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit from fiscal year 2025 through 2034.
