What this amendment would do
MR. LUJAN submitted amendment numbered SA 696 to the concurrent resolution S. Con. Res. 7.
The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to the investigation of cases of missing and murdered Indigenous persons at the end of title III.
It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.
These revisions and adjustments can be made for one or more bills, joint resolutions, amendments, amendments between the Houses, motions, or conference reports relating to supporting initiatives for investigating cases of missing and murdered Indigenous persons.
The amendment specifies that this can be done by the amounts provided in such legislation for those purposes, provided that the legislation would not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
