What this amendment would do
This amendment, submitted by Mr. Luján, sets up a deficit-neutral reserve fund. Its main purpose is to deal with lowering prescription drug costs.
What the Amendment Changes
-
The amendment adds a new section to the end of title III of the concurrent resolution.
-
It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to change committee allocations, aggregates, and other levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.
-
These changes are meant for legislation that relates to lowering prescription drug costs, making them more affordable for American patients and taxpayers, as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit from fiscal year 2025 through 2034.
