What this amendment would do

Mr. Luján submitted amendment SA 682, which aims to add a new section to title III of the concurrent resolution.

  • The purpose of the amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to strengthening Head Start programs or Early Head Start programs, including those that are tribally operated.

  • It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.

  • These revisions and adjustments can be made for legislation relating to strengthening Head Start programs or Early Head Start programs, including tribally operated ones, provided that the legislation would not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
