What this amendment would do

SA 6697, submitted by Ms. Lummis and Mr. Barrasso, aims to add a new section to bill S. 4784 regarding the expedited review of leases for a pedestrian bridge project at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming.

The purpose of this amendment is to facilitate a project that connects a new pedestrian bridge to parking lot improvements. This would open over 2,000 parking spaces for public use for the Greenway trail system of the City of Cheyenne and Cheyenne Frontier Days.

To achieve this, the amendment adds the following requirements:

  • The Secretary of the Air Force must expedite the review of and finalize the leases within 60 days after the Act is enacted.

  • The Secretary of the Air Force must provide a briefing to congressional defense committees within 30 days after the Act is enacted. This briefing must cover the status of the leases and any obstacles to meeting the review deadline.
