What this amendment would do

SA 6682, submitted by Mr. Gallego, aims to add a new section (SEC. 2873) to bill S. 4784. The purpose of this amendment is to require the Secretary of Defense to provide a report to congressional defense committees regarding the impact of the conflict with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The amendment requires this report to be submitted within 60 days of the Act's enactment and must include the following:

  • A report on military installations, cooperative security locations, and forward operating bases that were impacted or damaged.
  • A comprehensive cost estimate for the repairs needed at each location.
  • A list of the number and type of critical munitions used during the conflict.
