S.Amdt. 6644

SA 6644, submitted by Mr. Tillis, aims to change the regulations regarding exemptions for engines and equipment used for national security.

The amendment requires the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency to revise specific regulations within 90 days of the Act's enactment.

The purpose is to specify that an engine or equipment is exempt without a request if it meets these three criteria:

• It is for a marine vessel.
• It has a rated horsepower of 60 or less.
• It will be owned by a Federal, State, or local emergency response or public safety agency responsible for homeland security activities or domestic response.
