What this amendment would do

SA 6614, submitted by Ms. Duckworth, aims to add a new section (SEC. 2807) to bill S. 4784.

The purpose of this amendment is to prohibit the use of military construction funds for the following:

  • Constructing, renovating, or expanding any facility used by the Department of Defense to detain migrants.

  • Constructing, renovating, or expanding any facility to facilitate the detention of migrants by the Department of Homeland Security, which includes housing personnel from that department.
