S.Amdt. 6607

SA 6607, submitted by Mr. McCORMICK and Ms. Rosen, aims to add a new section to bill S. 4784. Its purpose is to require the Secretary of State, working with the Director of National Intelligence and other Federal agencies, to create and submit a detailed report on corruption and oligarchs in Iran to specific congressional committees.

The amendment adds a requirement for a report that includes the following:

• Information on Individuals: Identification of significant senior foreign political figures and oligarchs in Iran, their estimated net worth, their relationship to President Masoud Pezeshkian or other ruling elite, indices of corruption, known sources of income (including family members and beneficial ownership), and non-Iranian business affiliations.

• Iranian Parastatal Entities: A description of these entities, their role in the Iranian economy, their leadership and beneficial ownership, and their non-Iranian business affiliations.

• U.S. Economic Exposure: Information on how key U.S. sectors, such as real estate, insurance, securities, and banking, are exposed to Iranian State-owned enterprises, Iranian parastatal entities, and politically affiliated persons.

• Impact Analysis: Information regarding the likely effects and potential impacts of imposing debt and equity restrictions or additional sanctions on Iranian parastatal entities, State-owned enterprises, or oligarchs, including the effects on the economies of Iran, the United States, and U.S. allies.
