What this amendment would do

Mr. Welch submitted amendment SA 657 to the concurrent resolution for the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.

Purpose and Changes

  • The amendment aims to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to support for Federal dairy programs at the end of title III.

  • It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution, and adjust the pay-as-you-go ledger.

  • These adjustments are for legislation relating to Federal programs that support small- and medium-scale dairy operations.

  • The changes can only be made by the amounts provided in such legislation, and such legislation would not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
