What this amendment would do

SA 6553, submitted by Mr. Hoeven, aims to add a new section to subtitle G of title X of bill S. 4784.

The purpose of this amendment is to require the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to establish a new priority group 1 sub-priority under the State Home Construction Grant Program.

This sub-priority is intended for States that have bed needs located at least two-hours driving distance from existing facilities. This must be established no later than April 15, 2027.
