What this amendment would do

This is amendment SA 655, submitted by Mr. Welch to the concurrent resolution on the budget for fiscal year 2025.

The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund related to mandatory dairy cost-of-processing surveys at the end of title III.

  • It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to make adjustments and revise allocations for legislation that authorizes the Department of Agriculture to conduct regular dairy cost-of-processing studies.
  • It requires that any such legislation would not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
