What this amendment would do

SA 6542, submitted by Mrs. Capito and Mr. Whitehouse, aims to add a section to the bill expressing the sense of Congress regarding the Corps of Engineers.

The purpose of this addition is to state that:

  • The Corps of Engineers gives critical support to communities nationwide through its Civil Works mission.

  • Biennial water resources development legislation is necessary to make sure water resources development projects and studies carried out by the Corps of Engineers are authorized on time.
