S.Amdt. 6540

SA 6540, submitted by Mr. Lee and Ms. Duckworth, aims to add a new section (Section 508) to the bill.

The purpose of this amendment is to change how the National Guard Bureau handles funds received as reimbursement from states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the Virgin Islands for the use of military property.

The amendment specifies that these funds:

• Must be credited to the appropriation, fund, or account that incurred the obligation, or another available account used for the same purposes.

• Can only be used by the Department of Defense for functions like repair and maintenance that relate directly to assets used by National Guard units while on State active duty status.
