What this amendment would do

SA 6397, submitted by Mr. Cruz and Ms. Cantwell, aims to add a section to bill S. 4784 regarding the authorization of appropriations for the Coast Guard.

The purpose of this amendment is to change Section 4902 of title 14, United States Code, to update funding levels and fiscal years. Specifically, it aims to change the following:

  • Update the applicable dates from fiscal years 2022 and 2023 to fiscal years 2026 and 2027.

  • Set the following funding amounts:

    • Subparagraph (A): $11,851,875,000 for fiscal year 2026 and $13,500,000,000 for fiscal year 2027.
    • Subparagraph (B): $25,570,000.
    • Subparagraph (C): $26,848,500.
    • Paragraph (2)(A): $3,651,480,000 for fiscal year 2026 and $3,700,000,000 for fiscal year 2027.
    • Paragraph (3): $67,701,000 for fiscal year 2026 and $70,000,000 for fiscal year 2027.

  • Update paragraph (4) for retired pay, medical care for retired personnel and dependents, and other related payments to:

    • $1,057,929,000 for fiscal year 2026.
    • $1,215,000,000 for fiscal year 2027.
