What this amendment would do

SA 6209, submitted by Ms. Murkowski, aims to change the travel allowance for members of the armed forces assigned to Alaska.

The amendment proposes the following changes:

  • It changes the travel destination from the home of record of the member to either a location in the United States (including a territory or possession) or a location outside the United States if that location is the member's home of record.

  • It changes a time period from one year to 180 days.
