What this amendment would do

Mr. Merkley submitted SA 618, which is an amendment meant to be added to the concurrent resolution for the congressional budget for fiscal year 2025.

What It Aims to Change

This amendment aims to extend the enforcement of specific budgetary points of order in the Senate through September 30, 2034. It does this by making sure that subsections (c)(2) and (d)(3) of section 904 of the Congressional Budget Act of 1974 stay in effect for Senate enforcement, regardless of any other provisions in that Act.
