What this amendment would do

SA 6143, submitted by Mr. Van Hollen, aims to add a limitation to section 845 of bill S. 4784.

The purpose of this amendment is to prevent Department of Defense funds from being used to implement section 1217 until two specific things happen:

  • The feasibility study required under subsection (a) is provided to the Committees on Armed Services of the Senate and the House of Representatives.

  • The briefing required under subsection (c) is provided to those same committees.
