What this amendment would do
SA 6121, submitted by Mr. Paul, aims to add a section to bill S. 4784 regarding the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG).
The purpose of this amendment is to have the Director of the United States Fish and Wildlife Service designate CVG as a port of entry for importing and exporting wildlife and wildlife products.
To achieve this, the amendment adds the following requirements:
- The Director must conduct a study within 90 days of the Act's enactment to determine the cost of this designation.
- The Director must provide these cost estimates to interested stakeholders, which include the airport operator, air carriers operating at CVG, and other entities the Director deems appropriate.
- Within 90 days of completing the study, the Director must designate CVG as the port of entry using either public funds or private donations.
- The Director is permitted to accept and use private donations to fund the designation.
