What this amendment would do

SA 5993, submitted by Mr. Hickenlooper and Mr. Crapo, aims to add a new section to the bill titled "Limitation on the Transfer to the Space Force of Certain Functions of the Air National Guard."

The purpose of this amendment is to change Section 514 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2025 by adding rules of construction. These rules state that nothing in that section shall be interpreted to:

  • Authorize transferring a member of the Air National Guard of the United States more than one time under subsection (c).

  • Create a waiver for the applicability of section 18238 of title 10, United States Code, or section 104 of title 32, United States Code.
