SA 5992, submitted by Mr. HICKENLOOPER, is an amendment to bill S. 4784. This bill handles appropriations for fiscal year 2027 regarding military activities of the Department of Defense, military construction, and defense activities of the Department of Energy.

The purpose of this amendment is to add a section focused on the maximization of existing missile defense infrastructure.

It aims to change the process for the Golden Dome for America integrated air and missile defense system by requiring the Director of the Missile Defense Agency to do the following:

  • Maximize the use of existing missile defense infrastructure.
  • Maximize the use of existing test beds before building new facilities.
