What this amendment would do

SA 5955, submitted by Mr. Gallego and Mr. Justice, aims to change Section 1433(g) of the Safe Drinking Water Act.

The amendment makes the following changes:

  • It updates the dates from 2020 and 2021 to 2027 through 2032 in paragraph (1) and paragraph (6).

  • It replaces subparagraph (F) in paragraph (2) to include participation in training programs and the purchase of guidance materials and manuals regarding security and resilience.

  • Specifically, it adds training and materials for responding to and protecting community water systems from cyberattacks.
