What this amendment would do

SA 5952, submitted by Mr. Gallego, aims to add a new section to bill S. 4784.

The purpose of this amendment is to require the Secretary of Defense to provide a report to congressional defense committees within 60 days of the Act's enactment regarding military installations, forward operating bases, and cooperative security locations that were impacted or damaged during the conflict with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

For every location mentioned in the report, the following must be included:

  • A comprehensive cost analysis for required repairs.
  • A list of any munitions that were downgraded because of the conflict with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
